August 31, 2005Disneyland!Yup! This past Sunday, I spent the entire day with Allison, her family (mom, siblings, aunt, and uncle), and Darren at "The Happiest Place on Earth," Disneyland. I had lots of fun. I'm not so much of a theme-park person, but I must say, I did enjoy it very much. Out of all the time I've been to Disneyland, this is the only time that I can say that I have gotten the most out of it! I did so much throughout the day, went on almost all of the cool and exciting roller-coasters/rides, and ended the day with Allison by enjoying the impressive and elevated fireworks show on Main Street. Poor Allison wasn't feeling very well, so she sat out for most of the rides throughout the day. She did went with me on Autopia (my passenger! :) ) and a few other little rides, which were fun! Sorry I didn't catch the ballerina dolls on "it's a small world" ride... One interesting thing that has never happened to me before was one of the rides that we went on suddenly stopped working while we were on board. Splash Mountain, we specifically reserved Fastpass for this ride since morning, and when it came time for us to use it. We bypassed at least 500+ people in this humongous 75+ minutes estimated line to be almost at the front of the line for the ride. It was the last ride of the night that we were supposed to be on...anyhow, suddenly out of nowhere, after completing most of its routine course and right before the climax, pinnacle, ultimate last drop, the ride completely shut itself down. After sitting in the log for 10+ minutes at the bottom of the incline platform of that last big drop waiting to find out what was going on, Disneyland's technicians had to come and carefully removed us one by one and escorted us out of the ride and back into the theme-park. I guess it wasn't too bad since we didn't have to wait in line that long for the ride. Some of the hundred of people in line that we bypassed, who could've been waiting for at least an hour already and having to hear that the ride they waited so long for to go on has been entirely shut down, I can only imagine how upset they must feel. I also feel sorry for the people who were on the log ahead of us, they were right at the top of the big drop...a slight breeze of wind could have tipped the log overboard and run them into the water down below. Oh well, after safely being removed from the ride, we did managed to get on Thunder Mountain for the second time of the day just to satisfy our adrenaline craving that we expected from the disappointing and nonexistent Splash Mountain's last drop... You can check out all of the pictures that were taken with my camera on our little trip to Disneyland on my Flickr account. If you look carefully, you will see the couple of pictures we took while being stuck on Splash Mountain. Thanks to Darren for being the photographer of the day again and snapping most of those pictures. And Allison for taking time out of her homework to help me title those pictures. Oh and by the way, Allison and Darren, if you two have something to add, please do! I'm sure I didn't fully cover everything that went on that day within these few paragraphs! :)

August 26, 2005La la laWow it has been almost one month since I last blogged. Thanks Allison for taking over a couple of posts just to keep this blog from deterioriating into nothingness! A lot has happened since I last blogged. Norm got deported back to Mongolia, aka sheepland! He's now living on World of Warcraft with the rest of us...Dexter is taking off to Taiwan pretty soon...Derek is moving back up north for good, and speaking of Derek, I just got back home tonight from helping him pack with Darren for Derek's ride up north in the morning. Before that, we were at Red Robin for dinner. Had waaayyyy too much to eat...fish and chips...yummm...fries and honey mustard...yummmiier. After dinner, while most of everybody left for D&B nearby for Derek's friend's birthday, Allison and I ended up walking around Irvine Spectrum windows shopping and reminiscing about our first date, which happens to be at the same place about a little over 3 months ago. Oh, and the reason we didn't join everyone at D&B after dinner was because, after a certain time, they start carding people coming in at the entrance...and you need to be either 21 or over...or over 18 with a supervision of an adult of the age of 25 or over. Yeah...Allison was no where near 21 and I'm not yet 25...soooo yeah! Hehe...it's okay, I didn't mind spending some alone time with Allison anyhow! :) The summer is almost practically over...I'm almost done with my summer class, approximately one week to go. My demo presentation for my huge class project is sometime next week. I'm pretty anxious about it, hopefully it will be ready to go by the time of the presentation. I've been working endlessly this summer on this project. It's a web project...so that usually means it is neverending...Allison is having her final exam for one of her many summer classes next week too. Good luck sweetie! Anyhow, overall I had a good summer, it was stressful for the most part but I did enjoy spending a lot of time with Allison and all of my friends down in Irvine, who have mostly gone back to where they're from or moved on to the next chapters of their lives...it was fun while it lasted everyone! Oh and by the way, congratulations to Laureen for landing a cool job up north with CNET, hope you are enjoying the Bay area up there, the weather must be nice...or at least nicer than the dry heat we are having down here...and congratulations to Darren for getting promoted (to lead surgeon now? ). Okay...I better head to bed...good night/morning/day! As always, you can visit my Gallery link above on the menu or just click this link -> Flickr <- to see some of my latest pictures I've taken within the past months.

August 14, 200542nd StreetWell, since Son never posts anything anymore, I'm taking over until he's done with his project and has time again. So yesterday, Son (being the wonderful boyfriend that he is) drove me out to Palos Verdes to see my little sister in a production of 42nd Street (a musical with alot of tap dancing in it.) He picked me up at about noon and we drove out to the LA area. The 405 was packed for some reason, but we made it out there with plenty of time to spare. We went and got a bouquet of roses for Kristen then headed over to the theatre to meet my family, who had our tickets. They put on a very professional production of 42nd Street, especially for the small theatre it was in! After the show we went out to greet my sister and a few other friends that I have that are in the show. We went with Kristen and the family to eat at Marie Callendar's, since it is close to the theatre and Kristen had to be back to prepare for her second show in about an hour. After my Kristen and my mom left for the theatre, we all started heading back to my house. Son and I stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way back, because he has been craving donuts, so we stopped there and talked for a while. By the time we got back to my house my relatives had left and only my brother and dad were there (they didn't go see the show). We drove my brother to go get some dinner then went back to the house. They decided to watch Team America. Son and I watched it with them... by the end of the movie I had decided I'm not old enough to see it - after burying my face in Son's shoulder and covering my ears for half of the movie. Definitely not appropriate for my 12 year old brother!! After the movie Son and my dad were talking computers, so I kinda zoned out for a while. My mom and sister got home from the theatre around 11, and we left soon after to go back to Irvine. It was a good day, and Son got along well with my relatives, which was very nice. But now we both have to get back to work.... Son with his huge project and me with my two math classes. Only five more weeks of summer...

August 05, 2005I'm taking over!!!Hehe yes, I'm hijacking the journal again The last week has been a busy one for all of us, with finals for some of us, others packing to leave and Son with his huge project. It's so sad that so many of you are leaving, especially for poor Son!! I'm going to miss Derek and Norm the most - when I first started hanging out with you guys, the four of you (Darren, Derek, Norm and Son) made me feel like I was one of you... not like I'm an outsider. Thank you... noone has ever made me feel like a part of something before. Next week classes start back for the second session... but I can't wait for the Salsa classes with Son!! Hopefully we can get through the rest of our classes and Son can get through his project class without exploding!! Alright Son... I'm done hijacking your journal... for now... :-D

August 04, 2005Picture... Allison and me over at Derek's place that night that I wrote about in the last post It's a good picture of us only if Allison would've looked at the camera! :) Thanks Norm for the picture. I was holding holding Norm's UCI ID. I was just pointing out that his full name is just way too long.
