Over this weekend, I updated my little pet project, World Cup Pickr, again. I decided that it needs a bit more enhancement in terms of the user interaction and that I also wanted to incorporate more components of the Yahoo! User Interface Library. The World Cup Pickr has been tested in Internet Explorer 6, Firefox (and Flock), and Safari 2.
With this in mind, I set out to add a few additional enhancements that would “interact” with the users better and communicate a clearer message. The first thing I added are the tooltips that appear as the users mouse over certain objects for a specific period of time. These tooltips utilize the Yahoo! UI Library: Container family of components, more specifically, the Tooltips extension.
The second thing, my personal favorite so far for this project, is the subtle motion animation that gives the users the visual cue that a player slot has been selected and dropped into its respective container slot. To activate this, double click on any of the team slots located horizontally on top.
Check it out! World Cup Pickr!!! Feedback, as always, is welcome! =)
At the moment, I’m also helping Allison with some Photoshop work for her job of designing and developing a website for the Graduate Physics Department at UCI. I’ll post some screenshots and a link once that’s up.

!!!! Keep my work out of this!!!! hehe it isn’t worthy of your beautiful webpage! Perhaps in a few years I’ll be good enough to have something on your website without embarassing myself!
Thanks for all of your help on it though, it would look a lot worse if I didn’t have you helping me! I love you!
